Reports: Arsenal star likely to be offered profitable exit from the Emirates Stadium

Jose Mourinho, Chelsea former manager who is now considered to be the potential successor to Manchester United current manager, Louis Van Gaal has reported to set his sights on Arsenal star Mesut Ozil as reported by Express via TuttoMercatoweb.

Mourinho, was sacked this season by the London club after repeated poor performances which saw the Blues nowhere to be found for both Champions League and the Europa League qualification.

The former Real Madrid coach has been far and wide reported to be the lone man to replace Van Gaal this summer. Base on the above, the Portuguese has been keen in bringing his former player Ozil – whom he had described to be “unique” – to the Old Trafford once he got the job to be the new Man United manager.

The Portuguese man has worked together with Ozil at Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013 winning the La Liga and Copa Del Rey.

Although, Ozil has not make any decision yet as to the diverse reports linking him away from Arsenal, despite him insisting on being happy at Emirate.

Wenger is self-assured that the German alongside Alexis Sanchez are likely to commit their future to the club has they both still has two years on their contract.

According to reports from Sky Sports, Wenger said: "These two players have two years to go on their contracts at the end of the season," he said. So that is why we are not in a hurry. The players are very keen to stay and we are talking."

Ozil has reportedly to have grown frustrated at Arsenal and this is left to Wenger if he would be able to convince Ozil to extend his stay at the club with Mourinho now on his trail.

The situation as it is now, shows that the Frenchman is obviously not ready to lose Ozil to a Premier League rival as he is willing to make stronger efforts in strengthening his team in order to take another shot at the Premier League title next season.

Arsenal signed Ozil in 2013 for £42.5 million which marked him as the club record signing. He has won the FA Cup twice with the gunners and provided 18 assists, which is the highest in the league this season.

Ozil has yet to agree to a new contract deal with Arsenal; his deal with Arsenal is still on till 2018. Within the Arsenal fans, a lot of apprehensions will be outspread if the gunners should go another season despite the influence of Ozil and end up not lifting any trophy.

According to the reports from Marcareporter, Luis. F. Rojo earlier this year, it was reported that Barcelona were also considering a move for Ozil who Manchester United are now linked with.
