Gunner confirms highly-rated midfielder deal

The North London club has announced the signing of Granit Xhaka of Borussia Monchengladbach, as per the report, the Switzerland star inked “a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.”

The Gunners confirmed the transfer news on Wednesday via Twitter.

As per the reports from Arsenal, the team manager give details that the North London club has been eyeing the 23-year-old midfielder for some time.

“I’m very proud to be joining Arsenal.”

Xhaka is a natural boss on the field of play, having secured the Gladbach captaincy at young age.

The 23-year-old has tested himself at the highest level, during his time in the Bundesliga and with Basel; the Swiss has earned UEFA Champions League experience.

In the main time, his game is significant of the current Bayern Munich veteran pass-master Xabi Alonso. Alonso the 34-year-old former Liverpool and Real Madrid man, the Swiss international can dictate games from deep.

From Patrick Surlis of Sky Sports, it was make known that his former national team boss Ottmar Hitzfeld offered him not the same comparison. He instead viewed Swiss international as a younger version of Bastian Schweinsteiger of Manchester United.

Whichever comparison anyone might favour, Xhaka’s influence is noticeable in most games.

His skill for making himself both a conductor and destroyer in the middle was well appreciated in the North London club.

The former Basel payer captained Gladbach to the fourth position last summer. Xhaka has played four seasons at the Bundesliga for the German club, making 108 appearances and bagging six goals. Xhaka remains on among the exciting talents to watch out for at EURO 2015.
