Arsenal set to sign £20 million Premier League skipper - Arsenal fans will like him

Swansea City last match against Manchester City could have been an opportunity for Ashley Williams to make his last appearance for the Swans as Arsenal, as per the reports from Sunday Express reveals that the Gunners are targeting the Defender.

The Skipper has been linked with Arsenal many times and after his missing out at Germany international Mats Hummel, who lately signed for Bayern Munich, the Premier League runner-up have spun to Swansea centre-back, Williams.

The Wales international has been a long-time admirer by Wenger and he is the Frenchman is set to make a bid for him this summer.

Back-line of the North London club is out-rightly not impressive. Per Metersacker is ageing and lost form, probably due to the reason while Gabriel Paulista has not yet adapt fully to the pressure and demands of the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger knows about the strong toughening his back-line needs, so the Frenchman has made a defender made with a little bit of steel to be his top main concern.

As per the report from the Express via Metro, report has it that the Frenchman is ready to part with £20 million in an attempt in bringing the defender to the Emirates at the end of the season with reports that the Swans are to listen for their talisman.

Williams, 31-year-old has been a very great instrument to the resurgences of his club, Man City, has he helped in gaining promotion back into the Premier League in 2011.

Out of 16,920 minutes of the Premier League (96.29%), Williams has played 16,279 in the last five seasons, a good rate for a player of hisage. In 2008, he joined the Sky Blues from Stockport County and he has made 346 total appearance since then and has just 14 goals.

Also as per the reports from Caughtoffsides, Wenger has also shown deep interest in Chelsea young defender Fikayo Tomori. A report has it that the Frenchman is awestruck by the youngster abilities and performance and he could place a bid for him.

The Chelsea young defendant, Tomori was part of Chelsea FA Youth Cup winning team and voted the club’s Academy Player of the Year. The Canadian U-20 can either play as a right-back or centre-back. He Canadian star made his Premier League debut against Liverpool.

The Blues being a club that hardly gives their academy product the prospect to show in the senior team, the North London club could take advantage of this in luring the Canadian U-20 to the Emirates.
