Sweet Farewell to Arteta and Rosicky

Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta and fellow midfielder Tomas Rosicky will leave the Premier League club when their contracts expire this summer.

The Gunners captain Mikel Arteta and colleague Midfielder Tomas Rosicky will be saying their goodbyes to the Premier League club when their contracts expire with the North London club this summer.

Mikel Arteta, 34, joined the North London Club in 2011 and he has made 150 appearances scoring total 17 goals.

Tomas Rosicky, 35, signed for the North London Club in 2006 as a replacement Robert Pires and given an award for his 246 appearances and 10 years of trustworthiness service before the Gunners final-day win over Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger defined the duos as “two exceptional players and influences in the dressing room.”

As per the reports from the Independent, Wenger declared as follows: “It was a very sad day for me yesterday not being able to pick [Rosicky] to be in the squad today because there was something at stake,” said Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager, after the game.

“We lose him. We lose Arteta – two exceptional football players but also two leaders in the dressing room. I am convinced that in the bad periods they were a positive influence on the squad and we will miss them next season.”

The Spaniard, Arteta and the Czech international, Rosicky left Arsenal with two FA Cup medals, won in 2014 and 2015.

The Spaniard, who signed for the Gunners from Everton in 2011 for £10m, thought he could have had a goal whose late strike later given as a Mark Bunn own. However, the match later ended 4-0 win over Villa at the Emirates on Sunday.

After the final whistle, Arteta was sighted to be crying.

In the Spaniard match programme note, he said that failing to win the Premier League was “not good enough for this club.”

Tottenham’s 5 – 1 defeatby Newcastle meant Arsenal leaped over the north London rivals to end the league as second on the table, but the Gunners have not won the title since 2004.

“Joining Arsenal is a dream,” Arteta said on the club’s official website. At the end of the game, the entire stadium gives a round of applause him.

“I want to thank you for all the support given to me in my time here. It has been so distinct honor to be here.

I believe, I’ve been giving the best so far,” said by the Spaniard.

There are rumors that Arteta will be joining Manchester City under Pep Guardiola next season, but the information has yet to be given by Arteta as his contract, which runs out with the Gunners this summer, will not be extended.

Nevertheless, in the most recent seasons, the Spanish international faced injury often which made his number of performances so minimal.

This season alone, Arteta has made 9 appearances for the North London club, including when a new Arteta played against Aston Villa in the his game of the season being Sunday (15/05/2016).

However, Arteta appearance bears fruit. Arsenal won 4-0 and, and Tottenham Hotspur on the other hand defeated Newcastle United 1-5, Arsenal finished second – and back to finish ahead of Tottenham, which is their north London ceaseless rival.

Arteta furthermore contributed in the creation of the goal for the gunners in the match. In the 90th minute, the Spaniard received a pass from Alexis Sanchez before he finally kicked off the first time.

He kicked the ball, hit the post and straightly into the goal after the body of Villa goalkeeper, Mark Bunn.

Thomas Rosicky however will always remembered by the Gunners with plenty of friendliness, not most for his ability to score against Tottenham. Still, the Czech international will still be seen as a player who never to a certain extent fulfilled his potential in North London.

Sequence of injuries has denied him from burgeoning into a pivotal symbol ever since his purchase from Dortmund in 2006 as a replacement for Robert Pires.

Another Arsenal player whose contract with the Gunners will be expiring this summer, Mathieu Flamini was also absent from the match againt the Aston Villa.

Speaking subsequent about the match on Friday, Wenger confirmed Flamini’s exit alongside Arteta and Rosicky, saying; “Mathieu Flamini has been an extremely strong leader on the pitch and off the pitch. We lose three big personalities.”
