Arsenal set to land superstar ahead of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid - Gunners fans will love this

Ricardo Rodriguez, Wolfsburg full-back has been liked with a summer move the Emirates Stadium amidst keen interested from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

As per the reports from the Kicker and the Bild, the reports has it that the Gunners are monitoring the situation of the 23-year-old Swiss defender and the north London club are set to make an offer for Swiss should opportunity presents itself.

Last summer, there were links with European clubs with the 23-year-old Swiss defender but opted out to stay with Wolfsbug following the German club qualification for the Champions League last season.

However, Woflsburg has missed European competitions as they finished in the 8th position in the Bundesliga and the North London club are set to take advantage of this to lure the Swiss international to Emirates Stadium this summer.

However, the transfer fell through but Arsenal are now favourites to claim his signature, as they look to strengthen their team and end their 12-year-long title drought.

As quoted by the Independent, Arsenal interests was reignited with the Swiss earlier this year but were unable to complete a deal for the player.

The club has already captured Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach and is working towards bringing a striker, a centre-back, and probably a full-back in preparation for the Premier League next season.

The Swiss international has three years left on his current contract with Wolfsburg and would unite with his compatriot Granit Xhaka should he move to Arsenal this summer.

The North London club signed Granit Xhakafrom Borussia Mochengladbach earlier this week and he will be joining the club following the European Championships in France.

He would represent a clinical purchase by Arsenal give his valuation and the amount of energy he brings to a team.

Per Nacho Monreal entering his early thirties and his inability to adequately contribute in attacks often fails to separate him from the rest and no viable backup – excepting Keiran Gibbs – the need for a genuine left-back is visible for all to see.

However, Rodriguez would fix this situation and do just what Hector Bellerin is doing on the other side of the pitch for Gunners.

The left-back has three goals and four assists to his name this season, the Zurich-born defender is seen as someone who could fully utilise the height and strength of Olivier Giroud in the team. Rodriguez is an excellent crosser of the ball and Giroud would love connecting to those to tuck away chances.

Ricardo, Xhaka's team-mate with Switzerland national team is valued at €20 million and would be a good purchase for the North London club.

Elsewhere, there are reports linking the Gunners in the signing of Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku, Mauro Icardi and a 'top top quality' centre-back with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly often touted as a possible target.

From my perspective, I contemplate that, with Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, and Jurgen Klopp all getting their first full-pre-season at England; its subservient Arsene Wenger is preparing his squad for what could be the best Premier League season ever.

  1. Ricardo Rodriguez , will be another excellent signing after Granit Xhaka .If Arsenal can sign f Kalidou Koulibaly who is a towering player and a no nonsense he can stablize our defense beside Koncielny .Among the three strikers of Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku, Mauro Icardi I prefer Romelu Lukaku who is young and direct and has a good experience in the premier league and will need no time to adapt.

  2. If Wenger can get Ricardo,Kalidou koulibaly and then Lukaku and somebody like Mares or Saidou Mane that will be a very fantastic squad capable of challenging for the title and champions league next season. The right wing is the one which is weak and does not contribute much for the team

  3. All this hype will amount to nothing, Wenger will not change, Man Utd already have a six pointer against us, the tactics will stay the same, it will still be a case of ground hog day, we all know it, so why kid ourselves. Once Wenger goes, then we can start to rebuild a different team capable of winning the PL and maybe even the CL, but not while Wenger remains

    1. Spot on Conner Peden. Wenger knows that all the teams especially the top 6 will buy heavily. He has no option than to buy quickly to save his face.

  5. I personally think that Wenger,is slightly panicking a little now, as he knows that this is his last chance to put things right before he leaves the club, and gain a bit of his respect back from our fans! I am sure this will be his final season in charge, no matter what? For me, he has to bring in a renowned, consistent goal machine, whatever price? Also two more strong defensive players and a right sided playmaker to replace that waste of space Walcott. I would prefer him to go for Ssisoko from newcastle, i would even take a chance on Sturridge, instead of morata. Let's face it, we all know Wenger, he will probably bring in more unknown average players, and once again waste a good chance to really strengthen our squad.
Next season we will need the best, to be able to compete with the rest? I can only see another frustrating season for our supporters,

  6. As per the rating from Wikipedia, Rodríguez is known for being equally adept at defending as he is going forward. Experts consider him as an accomplished defender and note his strong heading ability. As well as considering him a continual attacking threat and noting his exceptional stamina and pace which allow for his constant, buccaneering runs up the . With this ability the Swiss possess, he could be a good addition to the Gunners defence. Considering my opinion.
