According to reports from Express, it reveals that
Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger hinted at signing defensive reinforcements in
the summer after calling on his Arsenal team to toughen up.
Wenger said:
“We have to add something
defensively as a team. “We need to be more ruthless. “I don’t think we are
soft.
“But, yes, we need to toughen
up. In some games we were caught.”
The
gunners are reportedly to make a £30million for Liverpool
top-striker, Daniel Andre Sturridge as
soon as the summer transfer window opens. The Frenchman has long been a
follower of the 26-year old top-class striker as reported by the Sunday Mirror.
Sturridge
who has just fully recovered from his most recent injury problems and,
unexpectedly, he showed an excellent performance against Villarreal on Thursday
by scoring an incredible goal although, there are still certain doubts about
him among the first-choice under Jurgen Kloop.
The crucial need of a highly top-class striker at the Emirates,
the signing of Daniel Sturridge would probably be one of best signings this
coming summer transfer window and he has reportedly to be a longtime admirer of
Sturridge.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool Manager, described Sturridge performance
in helping Liverpool make it to the final of the Europa League as an
‘Outstanding” and termed him has an ‘unbelievable player’.
According from reports from the Daily Star, it is revealed
that Sturridge has recently declared: “I am someone who wants to play every
minute of every match so maybe when I’m not starting, it’s hard to take.”
Conversely,
Sturridge has not always seemed as enthusiastically excited, he was on the
bench for both legs of the quarter-final win against Borussia Dortmund, leaving
that aside, he will be named in Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad on Thursday.
Back
in 2014, when Sturridge signed a new five-year deal at the Anfield, he has
never made mention of him spending his entire career at Liverpool, and if
perhaps Liverpool send out hints that Sturridge is for sell, the gunners are
likely to face a little difficulty for his signature although, Sturridge moving
back to the North-London side rivals in the likes of Chelsea and Manchester
City is absolutely of question.
Daniel
Sturridge spent four years at Aston Villa Academy before moving to Coventry City. He then later signed for Manchester City in 2003. He continued his
development at Man City and played in two FA Youth Cup finals.
He
left City in 2009 and signed for Chelsea,
where he was loaned out to Bolton Wanderers for the second half of
the 2010–11 season. After a successful spell at
Bolton, scoring eight goals in 12 appearances, he returned to Chelsea for the 2011–12 season, he then left Chelsea to Join
Liverpool Fc in January, 2013 where he formed an attacking partnership with
Luis Suarez SAS.
With
Daniel Sturridge style of play, he is likely to be a very good choice for the
gunners having made total 52-goals in 90 appearances for Liverpool, chances of
him playing at the Emirates with classic midfielder are certain.
