Paul Scholes Criticises Arsenal's 'Boring' Playstyle

Arsenal's Attacking Woes Deepen as Havertz Suffers Injury

Arsenal's injury crisis has intensified with reports that Kai Havertz, the club's top scorer this season with 15 goals, sustained a suspected hamstring injury during a training session in Dubai. 

This setback leaves manager Mikel Arteta with limited attacking options, as Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka are already sidelined due to injuries. Jesus is out for the season following an ACL injury, Martinelli is expected to return in March from a hamstring issue, and Saka is recovering from hamstring surgery with a potential return next month. 

The timing of Havertz's injury is particularly concerning as Arsenal aims to close a six-point gap behind league leaders Liverpool. The club's failure to secure a forward during the January transfer window has exacerbated the situation. Arteta expressed his disappointment, stating, "We had a clear intention to explore opportunities to improve our squad with players that can impact it. We haven't achieved it, so we are disappointed in that sense." 

With limited options available, Arteta may need to rely on Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling, or 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri to fill the void up front. However, none are natural center-forwards. Arteta emphasized the need for flexibility, saying, "We're going to have to be very flexible in the front line and now the ones that we have and are fit, make sure that they stay fit and they keep contributing."
