Based on the game versus Villa, my view is that Timber is best equipped to take the injured Saliba's place.
Another Gunners website called JustArsenal.com disagree with my view, thinking Kiwior is up to the task. Personally, I think playing the Pole would have suited Ollie Watkins right down the ground. The Villa forward would have outpaced Kiwior, and that's not something he could do to Timber. Let's not forget, Watkins was about to be substituted, just before he scored. Arsenal's makeshift defence had kept one of the most lethal finishers in the top flight quiet.
We mustn't put that down as a poor performance; it was bad luck. The team mostly did their jobs well, but it's probably true that Partey lost his man. Nevertheless, the makeshift right back was mostly solid and he offers more going forward than Kiwior.
Meanwhile, I've read stories stating that Sterling has lost the crowd at the Emirates. I distinctly heard a cheer when he came on, so he still has the fans on his side.
Nevertheless, he's going through a rough patch. There's no denying that. Sterling has to remember it's just a confidence issue. Once he gets a goal or two in the Premier League for Arsenal, he'll put all his woes behind him.
Well, that's my ten pence worth anyway!
