Trossard's sublime finish to make it three effectively ended Palace's resistance and, although two goals from substitute Martinelli put a gloss on the win, no one will be getting too carried away after this victory.
Nevertheless, it was a clean sheet too and to boost David Raya's confidence further, he started the move that ended in Trossard's goal.
In truth, Palace are a decent team. However, they are not at their best right now. Olise, arguably the best player, is out injured, and questions are being asked about the board and the manager, Roy Hodgson.
As people say, though, 'you can only beat what it's in front of you' and Arsenal have done that comprehensively and impressively. Perhaps, it's onwards and upwards, but for now it's up to third.
