After conceding an early goal at the Etihad when de Bruyne converted after an interchange with Haaland, there seemed no way back.
As half time approached, Arsenal could be forgiven for throwing the towel in, once Stones's header from de Bruyne's free kick was ruled to be onside. Apparently, White's foot played him onside. You've got to love VAR!
An unsavoury incident followed, when Arsenal and City players were involved in a melee, but only Diaz was booked for taking his studs down the back of White's Achilles.
For all their effort, Arsenal had only one shot off target to boast about; their attack was largely ineffective.
Just to make matters worse, at half time, a short documentary on Arsenal re-wrote history, stating that the club began at a munitions factory in north London! Journalists nowadays are just as good as VAR!
No way back now, it seems, but football is full of surprises, except when City are involved.
