Arsenal 0-1 West Ham (HT)

With Arsene Wenger in attendance for the first time since his departure, Arsenal were hoping for goals in the Boxing Day 'derby' versus West Ham.

However, the Gunners didn't exactly pepper the Hammers goal, so Fabianski was not made to look a turkey.

Instead, Fabianski kept a clean sheet for the first half, largely thanks to VAR, which correctly disallowed the second penalty award for a suspected handball against Cresswell.

Benrahma scored West Ham's penalty award, which was far from clear cut. Apparently, there was a mistake from Gabriel that led to Saliba's foul on Bowen.

Without the injured Jesus, Arsenal looked lively, but had no cutting edge.

Nketiah needs a goal and his first-half display certainly deserved one or more.

Ramsdale 7 - reasonably solid
White 8 - defensively sound and good in attack
Saliba 6 - conceded a penalty
Gabriel 6 - also culpable
Tierney 6 - good on the overlap, but not dealing with Bowen
Saka 6 - not as effective as usual
Partey 8 - precise passing
Xhaka 7 - looking dangerous
Martinelli 6 - in the wars
Nketiah 7 - chasing everything
