The pre-season business so far has been promising. However, as many pundits recognise and no doubt Arteta too, a new midfielder is needed. Tielemans at Leicester would do nicely, thank you.
Another position that may or may not need strengthening is that of left back. The reason is, of course, Tierney’s injury and Nunes’ lack of experience. Personally, I have a lot of confidence in Nunes, so Arsenal don’t necessarily need cover in that position.
I just hope that Arsenal conduct most, if not all of their transfer business well before the season kicks off, so signings have a chance to bed in. It seems as if Arsenal are intent on doing that, so a reason for optimism if ever I heard one.
