Just when many reports are claiming Algeria and Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez is on his way to Arsenal this summer, it may be a little blunder but German kit makers Adidas have thrown the hopes of all Arsenal fans out the window by suggesting Mahrez is actually on the way to Stamford Bridge and not the Emirates.
Earlier this morning, a mistake on Adidas' website showed that Chelsea fans have the option of buying a Chelsea shirt with Mahrez 7 on the back. Knowing Adidas and how important their reputation is, they are very unlikely to be pranking the fans. However, it could well be Chelsea fans who have created this themselves.
Yesterday news had broke by Euro sports France that Arsenal have practically agreed terms with Riyad Mahrez and that the deal is on the verge of completion with the Gunners reportedly ready to pay €50 million for the signature of the PFA player of the year for last season. If this news is true and Mahrez ends up at Chelsea, it will be another disappointment for all Arsenal fans, yours truly inclusive. Should Chelsea get Mahrez, it will remain to be seen what Wenger will do in the transfer window, especially as reports today seems to be suggesting Lacazette will be going to Napoli as Higuain's replacement.WTF?! Mahrez would certainly have been a good addition to the current Arsenal squad. His signing would have eliminated the problem we have on the right flank. He would have been an improvement on Theo Walcott. However, until Chelsea have officially signed the player, I believe we have a chance of landing him. Having said that, it is also important to point out that knowing Wenger, if Chelsea is interested in the African and a bidding war eschews, Wenger is very likely to pull out. Matters are made worse by claims that Lacazette could be going to Napoli (who it must be said have more money with the sale of Higuain looking like a done deal).
Didn't the same thing happen with Robinho a few years ago? Rumor was that he was looking at Chelsea or Man City, and all of a sudden Chelsea Mega Store was selling Robinho jerseys. Hopefully this is not a similar case of bad karma knee-jerk!
ReplyDeletehe's staying at Leicester. Who said so? Mahrez himself. End of
ReplyDeleteLeicester was disgrateful to him and to Kanté. One of the lowest wage for the best player of the year and one of the best player of the year (Kanté). I understand that both leave Leister. Loyalty is not a one way street. Those responsible for this Club are irresponsible. Sorry for the fans who were the only ones supported Mahrez. But fans can't decide his wage. Sadly....
DeleteWherever Mahrez sign, the new club will know what gem he will buy. The only one who has always been rewarded, it is Vardy who only enjoyed the great work of Kanté and Mahrez.
