Offer ACCEPTED, Highly-Rated Player Confirms He Has AGREED Arsenal Deal

A few days ago, Arsenal's chief executive Ivan Gazidis confirmed Arsenal are not able to compete with the big guns in the Premier League and in world football in general. According to the Arsenal CEO, Arsenal need to be selective in the transfer market in order to get the right players and remain competitive.

"We can't afford to outgun competitors that have far more money. We have to be very careful, very selective," he said.

"We would not be successful if we simply went out into the transfer market and tried to outgun our competitors.

"We're run in a self-sustaining way, and a way that we believe in, because we believe it gives us certainty for the future and enables us to plan our future with confidence.

"That means we can't afford to make huge mistakes in the transfer market. We can't afford to outgun competitors that have far more money to splurge on transfer fees than we do. So we have to be very careful, very selective about how we do things."

With this statement, one can assume Gazidis means Arsenal will try to do all their transfer business in the utmost secrecy to avoid being beaten to the signing of key targets or that Arsenal will go for young up-and-coming talents and train them in the ways of the club. By that I mean, the ways the likes of Fabregas, Gibbs, Szczesny were taught 'the Arsenal way' among others.

And to this end, Arsenal have taken highly-rated Chilean Under 17 international midfielder Marcelo Allende on a two-month trial. This much has been confirmed by the player himself, who was quoted to have said he accepted Arsenal's offer of a two-month trial without hesitation.

“I accepted without hesitation,” Allende said ( as intepreted by us ). “That you’re watching Arsenal, one of the best clubs in the world, it’s very cool.

“Being very realistic there differences are many in that Arsenal have everything, whatever, you care a lot.”

He also revealed that Alexis told him to hit the weights. “The other time I came, I could be with him [Alexis], [he] treated me really well.

“I was invited to watch a game because he was just injured. I saw him almost every day, we talked a lot, he was very happy.

“He wondered if I was happy. I told him [it’s] obvious that any child dreams of being at Arsenal.

“He told me ‘Do weights.’”

The player has been described as a ‘small and talented flyer’. Although the signing of the 17-year-old South American is not going to be one that will get Arsenal fans buzzing I, however, doubt anyone will complain if the player turns out to be another superstar.

Arsenal fans can't simply criticise the club for not discovering the likes of Mahrez and Vardy and then still criticise the club for going after young talent such as Marcelo Allende. However, the club must also know that while they are trying to secure the future, they must not abandon the now. Failure to sign a striker for the first team this summer and maybe a wing forward will certainly not go down well with the fans, especially considering how much the club has deprived the supporters of marquee signings for many years.
