Not Lacazette - Arsenal On The Verge Of Striker Signing, Deal Could Be Announced In Hours

It is a fact that Arsenal desperately need to sign a striker this summer. And from all indications, Wenger is keenly working on getting us a striker who will either be a back-up to Giroud or replace the former Montpelier striker in our first team. The calibre of strikers we have been linked with in the last few weeks is an indicator that Wenger is ready to leave Giroud out of the first team should the right recruit be brought in.

Unfortunately Arsenal have a limited war chest, unlike the likes of Manchester City, United, Bayern and others. We have, due mainly to money, lost out on a good number of our targets. Hence, it is not a surprise that reports from the French league today indicate that Arsenal are on the verge of signing a much cheaper striker in Toulouse's Wissam Ben Yedder.

According to a report by Canal +’s African experts Ludo Deroin, Wissam Ben Yedder could be completing a move to either Arsenal or Sevilla in a matter of hours. The 25-year-old attacker has been the subject of intense media speculation in the French league in the last couple of months. According to reports, Toulouse President Sadran is ready to sell the striker should an offer of at least €10m plus bonuses be made for his services.

West Ham, Sevilla and Leicester City have been linked with his signing in the last few days but you would think the Gunners will win the race if the reports of Arsenal's interest is true. Arsenal are certainly a more attractive proposition than any of the other interested clubs and with only Giroud as Arsenal's main striker, Yedder could feel he has a good chance of playing regular first-team football for the Gunners.

And I must also state that although Yedder is not a well-known name in football, the fact that Sevilla and Leicester City are interested shows he has something special about him. Both Leicester City and Sevilla have strong and very reliable scouting networks. If the scouts of both clubs think Yedder is a good player, maybe just maybe he is a huge unknown talent waiting for his chance on the bigger stage, Like Mahrez? Like Gameiro?
