Is Alexandre Lacazette Set To Join Arsenal?

That Arsenal needs to sign a striker this summer is something virtually every Arsenal fan agrees to. Unfortunately day by day, Arsenal's target keep moving clubs and although there is still over one month to the end of the transfer window, there is a real danger that this summer could turn out like the previous one.

Last summer, we were linked with the signing of various strikers but Benzema was the most linked of them all. Everyone actually thought the Frenchman would be coming to Arsenal but towards the end of the transfer window, the Real Madrid striker took to his twitter account to announce he was going to stay at Real Madrid.

Arsenal ended the summer break without a new striker and, as I have mentioned on this blog several times, Arsenal would have won the league if they had brought in a new goal-poacher, providing he was better than Giroud. And if care is not taken, with Higuain seemingly off to Napoli, and Vardy deciding to stay at Leicester City, the same will happen again as Arsenal's chances of getting a striker is gradually diminishing.

However, reports in France today seem to be indicate that Lyon are on the verge of signing Ben Yedder who, in my opinion, could be Lacazette's replacement. Arsenal have constantly been linked with Lacazette and with Lyon now all of a sudden interested in bringing in a striker, could it be that they have accepted the fact that Lacazette won't be playing for them next season?

Personally, I won't be surprised if that's the case and should it be true, it will be massive news for Arsenal. However, even if Lyon decide to sell Lacazette, Napoli could ruin the party for us unless Wenger decides to move fast and very decisively.

Reports yesterday claim Higuain is on his way to Juventus, which means Napoli have money to spend and unsurprisingly they have been linked with a £60m move for Lacazette: a fee Wenger is very unlikely to beat.
