Dick Law In Germany, Could Julian Draxler Be Set To Join Arsenal?

Those of you who have been reading this blog for sometime will know I enjoy throwing up some conspiracy theories every now and then. Today, we will take a look at Arsenal's likelihood of signing Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg. The German has constantly been linked with a move to Arsenal. Even before he signed for Wolfsburg, his current club, the English and the German media were of the belief that Wenger was interested in signing him.

And again this summer, a lot of reports have linked with him Arsenal. Although Wolfsburg have repeatedly confirmed the World Cup winner will not be sold, I strongly believe Arsenal have a good chance of signing the player this summer, if he wants to move and IF ( big IF ) Wenger is ready to pay the required sum - quoted to be 50 million.

"We always say that we listen to everything. That expressively does not apply for Andre and Julian," Allofs said. "We don't want to sell them, we want to return to the Champions League with them."

The above quote was the statement of Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs. But one month after making that statement, former Chelsea star Andre Schurrle has left to join Dortmund. What does this tell you? It tells me despite the fact that Wolfsburg do not want to sell, Arsenal still have a great chance of signing the German.

Another thing that makes me believe the German could be on his way to Arsenal this summer is the reports this week on social media claiming Dick Law Arsenal's chief deal maker was in Germany this past week. Could he be there to negotiate the purchase of Draxler?

In my opinion, whether we sign Draxler this summer or not all depends on Wenger. Does Wenger see value in Draxler at 50 million? Will he ever accept the fact that the market is inflated and no longer as it was in 2006? Will Wenger finally agree to live in 2016?

It also depends on the player. Does he want to leave Wolfsburg yet? And if recent reports are anything to go by, Draxler is really to leave Wolfsburg

Personally, I think as much as we need a striker, we also do need a wing forward. Walcott is just not good enough and if we really want to win the league next season, we must replace him. Chelsea have Hazard, Oscar and Willian, all of whom can play on right wing, United have Martial and now Mkhitaryan, Liverpool have got Coutinho, Firminho, Sturridge and Lallana, all of whom can play on the right wing. We have Walcott, a player who had potential 10 years ago and remains a potential star 10 years after and Alex Iwobi, a 19-year-old with less than 20 senior appearances to his name.
