Advantage Chelsea & Arsenal As Leicester City Finds Riyad Mahrez Replacement

Leicester City last season showed that they have probably the best scouting network in the Premier League. How they manage to unearth the likes of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante without the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, who have more money to spend on their scouting works, taking note is unbelievable.

Unfortunately, when the smaller teams are successful, the big guns come in and cherry pick their players. This happened to Aston Villa back when they almost beat Arsenal to the top four finish. Barry, Milner and Joleon Lescott went to City, Ashley Young to United, Brad Friedel to Tottenham. It appears the same thing is about to happen to Leicester City this summer.

Although Arsenal have failed in their bid to sign Jamie Vardy, as the Englishman chose to remain faithful to Leicester City, who gave him his chance in the game, some of his team-mates last season have other ambitions. Leonardo Ulloa has already handed in a transfer request while N'Golo Kante has gone to Chelsea and Riyad Mahrez has reportedly rejected the offer of a new contract, which has seen him linked with moves to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.

As a Gunner, I certainly would like us to sign Mahrez this summer. He will significantly improve the current Arsenal team and if reports that he has rejected a new contract offer with Leicester are true, then surely it means he wants to leave Leicester?

And interestingly, reports claim Leicester City are interested in signing Bartosz Kaputska from Polish side Cracovia. Considering how good Leicester City's scouting network is, maybe  Bartosz Kaputska is an adequate replacement for Mahrez. Looking at it critically, how come it is when news broke that Mahrez had rejected Leicester's offer for a new contract that they all of a sudden became interested in signing Bartosz Kaputska?

It could well be that Leicester are merely trying to improve their squad, as they will need a bigger squad seeing that they will be playing in the Champions League next season. However, it could also mean Mahrez's replacement is on the way.

I sincerely hope it is the latter. I see Mahrez as Walcott's replacement. I am personally tired of seeing Walcott go missing in games and surely Wenger won't pay Wolfsburg the amount needed to buy Draxler, so Mahrez is the answer.
