4th Summer Signing? Arsenal Table Offical Bid For Manchester City Target

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently confirmed Arsenal are short both defensively and offensively and, for this reason, the Gunners are still in the market for more reinforcements in both departments.

To this end, we have been linked with the signing of various players in both the defensive and offensive positions. We have been linked with the signing of Shkodran Mustafi of Valencia in recent times. This much has been confirmed by the likes of Sky Sports, which means the reports are probably true. Another player who has also been linked with a move to the Emirates is Lacazette, as well as Riyad Mahrez.

There is, however, a new name to be added to the listed of possible Arsenal signings before September the third. According to a report by Talk Sport, Arsenal have made an official bid of £15m for Manchester City and Chelsea target Bruno Peres, who is a right back who plays for Serie A side Torino.

Hector Bellerin is currently Arsenal's only right back, although there is, of course, Carl Jenkinson. However, the former Charlton Athletic star is injured and out until November.  Hence, there is a desperate need for another right back, especially as Debuchy is rumoured to be on his way out of the club.

With Bruno Peres able to play on the right wing as well as a centre back, it is easy to see why Wenger may be linked with his signing. The Frenchman likes his players to be versatile, which is particularly important considering how unlucky Arsenal can be with injuries.

It will be interesting to see who wins the race between Arsenal and Manchester City for this top transfer target. The Citizens have more money than us and knowing Wenger, he doesn't like a bidding war, so may capitulate. It is not a fact, but there is a lot of evidence that suggests that he will drop out of a race to sign a star if other interested clubs up the ante. Should the interest from City be true, it remains to be seen if Wenger is keen enough to try to outbid the cash-rich club to the signing of the Brazilian.

  2. Maybe Arse are going to sell us Bellerin then, Peres will not move to a club to sit on the bench.
