Reports has made confirm
that West Ham are on the verge of signing Arsenal Winger Theo Walcott,
out-of-favour player frustrated over his inability to be listed in the
first-team.
The Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger plans on overhauling of the gunners squad this coming season, has grown
exasperation with the England forward’s form, with the team manager making it
clear that Walcott has not yet developed as expected and he would be allowed to
leave the Emirates if perhaps he considers leaving.
Walcott has had to pass
through a challenging season due to injuries and unpredictability, which has
result into adequate appearances.
The Sun reports that the Hammers are
maneuvering to lure the Gunners with £20 million offer the 27-year-old.
His progress has
seriously been slowed down by injuries and as such, he has go head over heels
down the pecking order with Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and
Alex Iwobi all chosen ahead of him.
Steven Bilic, The Hammers
manager, reportedly has a transfer budget of £50 million to spend this summer
in the direction of refurbishment of the squad as they are getting prepared in
moving Olympic Stadium their new base this summer, and Bilic has plans to
splash 40 percent of that on the procurement of Walcott.
The Hammers co-chairman
said:
"We're
going to make a £20m or £25m bid for a player in England later this week.
“Whatever
happens we intend to bring a top striker in. "We're hoping to bring in one
or two top players.”
“The
Olympic Stadium gives us about £12m a year in extra income. It doesn't give us
£100m a year in extra income"
Independent News had it
that Manchester City and Chelsea Fc has also been linked with a move for the
England International at the beginning of this season, however, West Ham in
their bid in breaking into the top-four, has convinced the England forward to
move to a rival team where he can assume more first-team chances instead of
staying at the two interested clubs in need of his services.
Walcott who has also been
under Man City close watch is reportedly expected to be leaving the Emirates
Stadium this summer in search of regular football, which in thus will be
bringing an end of his 10-year-relationship with the Gunners.
Real Madrid Lucas
Vascuqez and Borussia Mondglabach Granit Xhaka has reportedly been linked with
the Gunners boss as possible replacements for the former Southampton player.
Walcott joined the
North-London club from Southampton for£25m deal in 2006, he has made 231 striking and
outstanding appearances and has scored 85-goals in all competitions, winning
the FA Cup twice with the club.
On the other hand, the feelings at the Emirates presently, it is believed that the England international has failed to reach the expected heights that he was supporsed to hit when he made his debut fot the North London club in August, 2006, and at the moment, there has been growing discontent among the Gunners fans with the England international over his inconsistency performances.
