Feels like Halloween!

I don't like being shocked, especially when we're talking about injuries: in this case Theo Walcott's. But when I saw the front page news today, I was reeling. Some Spurs fans may think it's divine retribution for what they deemed as an offensive hand gesture. Personally, I'd rather be the recipient of a hand gesture than have coins rain down upon me, but hey, maybe that's just me!
Theo's smile after the injury told a lot of us that it wasn't going to keep him out long. How wrong could we be? I expected him to be out longer than some thought, as jarring a knee can cause a lot of damage. But six months! No one could have seen that coming.
With the weather looking so miserable it really feels like 'trick' after our weekend 'treat' in the wrong month. January is supposed to be a time of optimism and it is when you look at the league table. Transfer news tells us a different story with Vermaelen being linked to Napoli again. So who's coming in to replace Theo? No one, it seems. However, there is speculation that we could launch a bid for Alexandre Pato of Corinthians. That would cheer us up a bit, if that happened although it would hardly be a like-for-like replacement. Pato might not be fast enough to chase pigeons, but he'd banish the black-cat blues I've got thinking about the rest of the season without Theo.
