Confirmed On Sky Sports - Arsenal To Announce Lacazette Signing "Next Week"

Olympic Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has been one of the players linked with a move to Arsenal the most this summer. This is not so surprising though. There is a dearth of strikers in the market, at the moment, and the Frenchman is one of the most realistic Arsenal transfer targets.

Last week, news emerged that Arsenal had had a bid of £29 million rejected by Lyon for the signature of the 25-year-old striker. However, according to Sky Sports pundit Tony Cascarino, Arsenal will be signing Lacazette by next weekend.

Tony Cascarino, who is a former Chelsea player who also had stints in the French league, was talking about the possibility of Lacazette signing for Arsenal.

“I’ve got a few people in France who really believe that this deal will go through by the end of this week coming.

“By the next transfer window (program on Sky Sports) next weekend that deal will be done, I’m sure.”

This is interesting, but it must be said Arsenal fans, including myself, often criticise for his opinion on Arsenal. However, I will now take everything he says as the 'gospel' truth because we are desperate for the club to sign a striker this summer.

Hopefully, the former Ireland international is right on this. With other transfer targets like Vardy and Higuain rejecting us already, only Lacazette and Icardi remain as realistic targets. And with Napoli said to be interested in Icardi, we must ensure we get Lacazette, if we do not want to risk of ending another window without the much-needed striker.

Lacazette's record in the French league is a big indicator of why Arsenal must ensure they get him. In the last two seasons, he has scored 48 goals, which is more than what Giroud, Welbeck and Walcott have scored in Arsenal colours combined.
