In the last few days, no player has been linked with Arsenal more than Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez. And certainly the Algerian is one player all Arsenal fans will like Wenger to sign this summer. The reason is simple: Walcott has flattered to deceive for too many seasons. Last season was the last straw for many, myself included. The signing of Mahrez will mean we will not only see less of Theo Walcott on the right wing, but it will also ensure we have someone who can score tons of goals from the right flank.
Although Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has many times made it clear the Algerian will remain with Leicester beyond this summer transfer window, Wenger yesterday gave the bigger indication that Mahrez could be on his way to Arsenal. When asked if Arsenal are watching Mahrez, Wenger said 'yes' (see video below), although he has failed to confirm whether a bid has been made. Curiously, Wenger was said to have left the stadium immediately Mahrez was subbed off in the 60th minute.
This much was confirmed by beIN Sport journalist Ben Jacobs, who interviewed Wenger and claimed he was seated by his side.

Certainly, Wenger was there for Mahrez's sake then? If not, why will he leave the stadium immediately when Mahrez was subbed off? And knowing Wenger, he hardly ever confirms interest in a player unless he is absolutely sure a deal can be agreed. Maybe the reports that Mahrez has agreed personal terms with Arsenal is true after all.
And this morning, reports claim Mahrez isn't interested in Leicester City's contract offer. Are things now falling in place then? From all indications, this news will pick up today and will likely continue unless Mahrez signs his a new contract. The fact that Arsenal have been reported to have had an interest in Mahrez since last January is quite telling.
I personally will be happy to troll Leicester City fans when we finally sign Mahrez. They have deluded themselves in thinking they are now all of a sudden a bigger club than Arsenal after their lucky one-in-a million title win.
Hahaha, we can troll them all we want but they did win a league that we SHOULD have won. I don't dislike them for succeeding. This next season will be quite tough for everybody. And yes, I hope we sign Mahrez
ReplyDeleteyeah they did have a fairy tale success last season. I don't hate but they should understand that last season they were underrated but this time everybody will be on the lookout for them. yeah it will be absolutely incredible if we sign mahrez
ReplyDeleteLeicester will fight hard this time to finish in top 10...the truth!!
