Although the Gunners were leading at the interval, there was no daylight between the two sides. However, the goal that put Arsenal ahead was outstanding. Bukayo Saka started and finished the move with an incredible strike. No one could get near him and his left foot.
Timber thought he'd given Arsenal the lead, by finishing off a Merino header that was blocked near the line. VAR, of course, was Arsenal's nemesis. It took 2 minutes plus for the goal to be ruled out for something 'clear and obvious'. The only thing 'clear and obvious' to me is VAR is ruining football.
Meanwhile, don't be surprised if Arsenal get a player sent off with three just a card away from an early bath.
Can Arsenal hold onto their tenuous lead? It depends on the officials, but the Gunners deserve their lead.
