On this showing, Arsenal won't be pushing for the title this season.
Sloppy passing on a waterlogged Stamford Bridge and not 'wanting it' as much as Chelsea is what the Gunners have been guilty of.
It's no good complaining about a 'lucky' VAR penalty. The header from Mudryk looked goal bound. It hit Saliba's hand. Raya may have saved it, but I'd still call it a penalty.
The question is, though, should the penalty taker, Palmer have been on the pitch after his potential ankle-breaking tackle on Jesus? I'd have given the Chelsea goalscorer red for dangerous play, but it's always open season on Arsenal players, who are hunted like rabbits. It seems anything goes. Does anyone remember the horrific challenges that nearly ended the careers of Eduardo, Ramsey and Diaby. Dirty play like this needs snuffing out.
Talking of injuries, Saka, Saliba and Martinelli were all doubts before the game. I wonder how much pain they're playing with. Saka, in particular, struggled to get into the game.
Anyway, it's going to be a tough second half, especially without the referee's protection.
