Arsenal 2-0 Palace (half time)

With the arrival of manageless Crystal Palace , it looked like it would be a nervy afternoon at the Emirates. Although VAR tried its best to put Arsenal fans through an undue amount of suffering, the second Gunners goal struck home by Saka, ended some of the nerves, when it was not ruled out for offside.

Before that, a Martinelli effort had put Arsenal ahead, as he converted Saka's cross.

In fact, Palace had looked the more likely scorers before that with Zaha hitting the post and Ramsdale being called to make another decent save.

Zaha, despite the criticism of his lack of tackling back, was causing a few problems and without the injured William Saliba, Arsenal looked frail defensively in terms of pace.

Ben White, meanwhile, was causing Palace problems at the other end of the pitch, while Holding, drafted in for Saliba, needed to be at his best to quell Palace's counter attack. Luckily, Gabriel and Zinchenko were on top form, so Holding's job was easier than it might have been.

Ramsdale 8 - solid
White 8 - good going forward
Holding 7 - dominant in the air
Gabriel 8 - showing off his skill
Zinchenko 8 - excellent feet
Saka 8 - a goal and an assist
Odegaard 9 - impeccable
Partey 7 - making his presence felt
Xhaka 7 - quiet and took a knock
Martinelli 9 - causing huge problems for Palace
Trossard 8 - looking sharp
