Ben White's tearful eyes spoke volumes for Arsenal's disappointing second half showing at St Mary's.
There were chances to win the game, most of which fell to Jesus, who seemed to bear the brunt of the Saints' physical approach.
Substitute Tierney fell down in the area clutching his throat but, interestingly, no replays were shared with the watching public.
Odegaard even had the ball in the net late on. However, it was ruled out, due to Tierney's cross being hooked back from the wrong side of the goal line.
Fellow subs, Vieira and Nketiah struggled to get into the game, as Arsenal's fizz went flat and precious points were dropped.
