It's Done ! - “Mustafi Is Coming To Arsenal” Wenger Hints

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in Valencia’s and German international defender Shkodran Mustafi and are hopeful of securing a deal with the La Liga giants to bring the £30m-rated CB who’s reportedly Liverpool target to the Emirates stadium this summer.

The report is according Sky Sport News [via Football-Talk] who’re also claiming the Frenchman is desperate in signing the former Everton youth player before the end of this summer.

We’re desperate in bringing in a new centre-back before the end of the transfer window after losing the La Liga defender compatriot Per Mertesacker to long-term injury while Brazilian international Gabriel Paulist as also joined him on the sidelines and ruled out for eight weeks with an ankle injury.

The sole replacement for the duo as appear to be Mustafi as he’s been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates stadium even before Gabriel was ruled out for eight weeks.

The report from Sky Sport further went on claiming that the German World-Cup winner has agreed to personal terms with the Gunners and we’re now just trying to thrash out a deal with the La Liga giants.

The report from the aforementioned media also suggested that the Los Che are demanding payment of £30m to part with Mustafi but we’re hoping to negotiate a lower fee due to the fact that Valencia need to sell in order to meet their Financial Fair Play guidelines.

The French manager according to the report has now publicly admitted for the first time we’ve been linked with Mustafi that Arsenal are in talks with Valencia over a deal to sign the German international.

He also claims that he is looking forward to get the transfer agreed as soon as possible. Sky Sports quote the Frenchman as saying,
“Mustafi? We hope it will be done. He is one of a number of players we are looking at. Negotiations are ongoing.”
Wenger hit back at his critics following Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Leicester after being quizzed by reporters about his lack of activity in the market this summer but it looks as though the 66-year-old is now ready to open the chequebook to sign Mustafi.

However, based on his words, it looks as though the Frenchman is ready to break the bank to bring Mustafi to the Emirates stadium which according to an Italian journalist, the German could be set for medicals on Monday.
