Sky Bet Confirms Arsenal Favourites To Sign Riyad Mahrez Ahead Of Chelsea

In the last few days, Arsenal have been linked with the signing of many players, especially both Lacazette and Riyad Mahrez. Arsenal have already had an official bid rejected for Lacazette. This has been officially confirmed by Lyon, who revealed the offer rejected from Arsenal is 35 million. Reports since then have indicated that Arsenal intend to go back to Lyon with a new £35 million bid which is about 41 million.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal will truly go back to Lyon, as the reports claim, but we certainly need another striker. However, on the Mahrez front, Sky Bet, who are quite reliable have indicated Arsenal are the clear favourites for the signature of Mahrez. The bookmakers, who are also partly owned by Sky plc, have Arsenal priced at 11/10 for the signature of Mahrez.

This means Sky Bet believe the chances of Mahrez joining Arsenal before the transfer window closes on September 3rd are extremely very high. Chelsea are priced 4/1 to sign Mahrez, which means the Blues only have a 25% chance of signing Mahrez.

Curiously, the bookmakers are often right when it comes to transfer news. Sky Bet had, on June 3, announced on Twitter that they had suspended bets on Jamie Vardy joining Arsenal after a fury of bets. The next day, news broke Arsenal had triggered the release clause of Jamie Vardy.

Could it be that Sky Bet have another piece of insider information on Mahrez signing for Arsenal? This is getting very interesting.

Mahrez signing will surely be a good news for Arsenal. It will make us see less of Theo Walcott and the fact that it will annoy both Chelsea and Leicester City fans makes it even more exciting. Should Mahrez join Arsenal, Leicester City will PROBABLY finally accept their one-in-a-million Premier League triumph doesn't all of a sudden make them a big team.

And if we win the race for Mahrez ahead of Chelsea, we will be making ourselves stronger while preventing a title rival from improving their squad.
