Confirmed By Sky Sports - Arsenal Agree Yet Another Transfer Deal, €16m Fee Agreed For Defensive Star

After having signed Granit Xhaka and Takuma Assano and with various reports claiming Arsenal are still very active in the transfer market (this much was confirmed by Wenger himself), it appears Wenger is not only working on incoming transfers but outgoing ones as well.

Isaac Hayden has already signed permanently for Newcastle United, Dan Crowley has signed on a season-long loan deal with Oxford United and Jon Toral has signed for Grenada for a season-loan spell as well. Another player set to go out is Wojciech Szczęsny. According to Fabrizio Romano, who works for Sky Sports:

The Poland international had spent last season on loan with Roma and, according to reports, the Italians have been wanting to sign the Arsenal star permanently since May. However, there have been disagreements after disagreements during the negotiations, which is why the deal hasn't been finalised until now.

The deal, however, appears close to a conclusion finally as, according to Fabrizio Romano, Szczęsny will now join Roma for another season-long loan deal and should the Italians want him permanently, they will be be able to sign him for €16m.

The Italian tweeted the following moments ago;

With Roma having an option to buy Szczęsny at the end of the next season, it means Wenger no longer sees the Poland international as a part of Arsenal's future and, with David Ospina also rumoured to be on his way out of Arsenal to Turkey, it will be interesting to see what Wenger does on the goalkeeping front.
