As speculated not long ago by John Sippie, its speculation
has it that Edinson Cavani has to rank in as one of Arsenal manager, Arsene
Wenger biggest missed opportunity.
The 29-year-old Uruguayan striker was available over the past
two years, but the Frenchman was not ruthless enough in his quest and as such,
Cavani now remains at PSG, having witnessed Zlatan move on.
Now,
Cavani he stands alone as PSG’s No. 9.
This
news apparently will raise strong enquiry from the Gunner’s fans, “why then are we still talking about this?”
Well,
possibly because Edinson Cavani took to the presses and established that there
were other locations to play football other than PSG.
“At
PSG I have always seen myself as a No 9 even though I’ve never played that
role.”
“I
always sacrifice myself for the team. The future? Godin knows me very well
and has repeatedly told me that I should go to Atletico Madrid as his team-mate.”
This
also has to keep any Arsenal fan reading this that “what does this have to do with Arsenal anyway?”
Well,
not considerable, other than the statistic that shows clearly that, Cavani is
open to the idea of playing in other locales besides Paris. Which, to be
honest, is somewhat surprising.
All
the 29-year-old Uruguayan international had to do was hang out
until Zlatan left. Cavani may perhaps very well have taken the bait and jumped
ship long before this year even came into existence. Nevertheless, he didn’t. “While am I still obsessed on that part, is
without doubt is basically for the reason that am also entertaining the idea
that Cavani could still be a want out by Arsenal.”
Cavani
unquestionably has shown outstanding wonderful performance in playing out wide
for the French side. He has put up better goals per 90 clip than most strikers
have and, even at PSG that is rather impressive. It takes a special kind of striker
to take a wide position and score in front of Zlatan.
Ubiquitously,
the Gunners’ are well known to need a new striker and offering Cavani a
lucrative deal with guaranteed time playing up front could set off a debate.
Regardless
of Cavani only making note of Los Rojiblancos, forthrightly that does not mean
that the North London club is out of the picture.
However,
the time is here again, at the point in time where the Frenchman (Arsene
Wenger) needs to be ruthless. With insignificant number of striker available
for move at the said moment, Cavani very well could be the best striker
available as “the Emirates outfits has a
very unique ability to attract the best without paying them the most of anyone.
See Alexis Sanchez perhaps.”
Alsofrom the reports elsewhere, Arsenal target Alvaro Morata has pleaded with Real
Madrid and interested clubs to resolve his future.
The
23-year-old Spaniard forward tot up a brace in the Wednesday’s friendly against
Korea, likely confirming his place as La Roja’s first-choice striker at Euro
2016.
That
is about all that is certain for the 23-year-old presently, with former club, the
Los Blancos set to exercise their buyback option imminently, and no decision
over what they will do next.
The
Gunners and the Blues both want to bring him to London, allowing the Bernabeu
club to spin an immediate profit on the Spaniard, but sections at Madrid are contemplating
whether he should stay in the Spanish capital or probably transfer to the
highest bidder.
Morata
just wants to know either way.
“I hope that my future
can be resolved as quickly as possible,” he said, “to know if I’m staying or if
I’m going.”
“Wherever they want me
most, that’s where I’ll be.”
Earlier
in the week, the Madrid-born rising young star revealed that his first choice
is to stay with Zinedine Zidane’s European Champions but that he was open to a
Premier League move.
