Round-up: Wenger wants PFA player to join Xhaka at Arsenal, Gunners ready to sign winger

According to reports from The Sun, the Gunners are in talks in adding to Riyad Mahrez to the signing of Jamie Vardy in a striking double raid on the Foxes.

The north Londoners are in talks to increase their squad by adding Riyad Mahrez to the signing of Jamie Vardy in a striking double raid on Leicester City.

Reports from FoxSports also claims that the Gunners manager, Arsene Wenger has by now met the £20million release clause of the Foxes striker Jamie Vardy, who has also per reports had his medical today at London Colney.

Here and now, in a different farfetched twist, the 29-year-old is set to be joined possible his move to the Emirates outfits becomes authenticity by Riyad Mahrez his PFA Player of the Year team-mate.

Arsenal are shocked that Mahrez’s release clause is so low and now have now the Gunners has well and truly sparked the break-up of the Premier League-winning Foxes team.

In January 2014, Mahrez, the Algerian international cost the Foxes only £400,000 from Le Havre and with a slow star he eventually became a Premier League superstar.

When asked the Foxes manager, Claudio Ranieri about star striker, Vardy’s release clause being met, was forced to admit, “It’s all true”

However, the Gunners swoop for Mahrez who also means that that Theo Walcott’s future at Arsenal is all-but over.

Walcott has been frozen out of the north Londoners first-team after an injury-prone career and now seems likely the 27-year-old would head to West Ham.

The North London club had another unsatisfactory season last term, falling off the pace in the Premier League behind Tottenham and champions Leicester.

Eventually the Gunners overhauled Spurs into second, on the last day of the season.

Nevertheless, Arsenal fans were united in their disappointment around their title assault in a season where Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all flattered.

From the reports elsewhere, it also claims that the new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has identified Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere, as his prime target for the summer transfer window.

Guardiola’s predecessor, Manuel Pellegrini also rated the 24-year-old highly. However, Wilshere broke his leg in Arsenal’s pre-season last year, which forced Pellegrini to back off from his pursuit. Wishere has two  years left on his contract with the Gunners and a new contract has been mooted.

The Gunners signed Granit Xhaka last month and are expected to further fortify their midfield before the end of this season.

One thing that might force Manchester City to make their move for the England international will be the performance of the 24-year-old in the upcoming EURO 2016.

Yet he is likely to be interested in joining the Pep revolution, especially as midfield competition has become stronger at the Emirates with the arrival of Granit Xhaka.

Despite sitting out most of last season, Wilshere has been included in the 23-man English contingent that will travel to France later this month.

Therefore, if 24-year-old makes his move to the Etihad, he will join his forces with former Arsenal players like Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri.
